The alluvial land of the River Maggia made of gravel, sand and clay offers the perfect conditions for the cultivation of the rice plant. The kind which is grown on the plantation is called Loto.

The Bridge named 'Ponte dei Salti', improperly also called the Roman bridge, is a pedestrian bridge over the Verzasca river, in the municipality of Lavertezzo, in Switzerland. The bridge dates back to the 17th century and is built on the site of an ancient Roman bridge. It was partially destroyed in 1868 and rebuilt in 1960. It Crosses the Verzasca river. The bridge is inserted in a beautiful landscape, thanks to the clarity of the river waters.

Ritom lake is a Alpin lake in the Piora valley, Swiss Alps, Switzerland. The natural lake is used as a reservoir by the Swiss Federal Railways to generate hydro-electric power for the Gotthard line. The first dam was built in 1918 and, in 1950, its height was increased by 23 m.

The Contra Dam, commonly known as the Verzasca Dam, is an arch dam on the Verzasca River in the Val Verzasca of Ticino, Switzerland. The Contra Dam is a concrete slender arch dam with a height of 220 m (720 ft). The dam creates the Vogorno lake 2 km (1.2 mi) . It was constructed between 1961 and 1965. The dam became a popular bungee jumping venue after a James Bond stuntman jumped off it in the opening scene of the 1995 film GoldenEye; a stunt voted as the best movie stunt of all time in a 2002 Sky Movies poll.

Sunset over the Lugano Lake (Italian: Lago di Lugano or Ceresio). This is a glacial lake which is situated on the border between southern Switzerland and Northern Italy. The lake, named after the city of Lugano, is situated between Como Lake and Maggiore Lake. It was cited for the first time by Gregory of Tours in 590 AD with the name Ceresio, a name which is said to have derived from the Latin word cerasus, meaning cherry, and refers to the abundance of cherry trees which at one time adorned the shores of the lake.

The Tremola, located in the Swiss Alps, on the Gotthard pass, is the longest road monument in Switzerland and is listed in the inventory of the historic Swiss roads. It connects the municipality of Airolo (1175 m a.s.l.) to the Gotthard Pass (2106 m a.s.l.). One of the highest paved roads in Europe, located on the left side of the Val Tremola, it was constructed with the opening of the roadway of the Gotthard Pass. In its most important stretch, over a length of four kilometers it climbs a height of 300 meters in 24 hairpin bends.
